45 minute trial lesson in a helicopter at Ards Airport

A 45 minute trial lesson in the local area allowing you to experience controlling a helicopter, they can even go backwards! Just before landing you might even get the change to try hovering it.

This experience will last a total of approx. 75 minutes, with approx. 15 minutes spent in the air. (We don't compromise on your time in the air. When comparing us with others, check the small print and the time actually spent in the air.)

You will join your instructor in the briefing room where he or she will explain and show you the three important controls of a helicopter and what they do. You'll also discuss airfield safety, and how the cockpit intercom system works.

Then it's out to the machine to get some pictures and get strapped in.

Obviously, the instructor will handle the starting of the engine but you'll be involved in the pre-flight checks before 'I have control' and the instructor gets you airborne.

The instructor handles the takeoff and climb to altitude. You might already have discussed a rout to take you over places of interest, but - frankly - making the helicopter dance around the sky is the best bit. Then all too soon it's time to give back control and the instructor will land it.

Then back to the clubhouse for tea and medals, it'll take weeks for the grin to fade.

Each voucher entitles one person to participate in this experience. The voucher is transferable, which means that anyone can use it.
