Tiger Moth experience
Tiger Moth flight - 30 mins
Helmet donned, goggles adjusted? Good! Chocks away for a taste of vintage flying at its most classic. Full 30 mins briefing then a few minutes later you'll be puttering along 2000' over the glorious Kent and Surrey countryside.

This experience will last a total of approx. 60 minutes, with approx. 30 minutes spent in the air. (We don't compromise on your time in the air. When comparing us with others, check the small print and the time actually spent in the air.)

Check availability. For later dates, schedules will not yet be available and so you should have a wide selection of dates to choose from when you come to book.

What's included

The tiger moth was built without the benefit of brakes or a starter motor, so yes, she'll be hand swung to start her, and yes, our ground crew will be taking the 'chocks away' as we set off.
Climbing out, we'll see the airliners going into and out of nearby Gatwick, but we won't be bothering them. We'll be cruising over the beautiful landscapes of the South East, revelling in the wind in our face and the smell in our nostrils.

Our Tiger Moth was manufactured in Portugal in 1939, the aeroplane was flown to Mozambique and then onto Northern Rhodesia where it was used for general transport. Many aircraft in this area were given names, this Tiger Moth was known as "Nokomis" Daughter of the Moon but to the local Africans it was simply known as "The Big Bird". Eventually the aircraft found its way to England.

It was a suprise present from family and friends, my wife said it was a pleasure speaking to the operator, whom was informative and helpful. We received detailed directions and the operator when my wife booked the date also gave us insructions. The venue had more than adequate seating, with a cafeteria and toilet facilities for guests and spectators alike. The staff were very informative, friendly and added to the whole experience of the day. The atmosphere was very relaxed and I felt in safe hands. The weather was perfect, I was the last flight of the day and it was perfect, I could not have wished for better weather conditions, they were ideal. I would not hesitate to book again or recommnend to friends/family. I had the opportunity to pose with the plane prior to taking off and once again once landed, memories to cherish.

My present from my husband

(Reviewed 02/12/2014)

I had no problems contacting the operator or booking my flight... all arrangements were made to my liking. Directions to the aerodrome were good, although, once there, it was not immediately obvious where we should go or who to approach. The visitor facilities were good. The staff were very friendly, and attentive when necessary. The equipment seemed to be in good condition. The briefing was full and very satisfactory, made me feel very confident. The pilot was very friendly and informative, and happy to chat to keep you relaxed. Would happily recommend, but wouldn't do it myself again as I felt very queasy! (Not your fault!) My husband took lots of photos. We didn't feel rushed to leave.

John Luya (as told to Steve R)

(Reviewed by John Lulya 09/10/2014)

After a false start, when the original operator failed and Flights4all smoothly issued a replacement voucher, arranging the day was easy. Excellent briefing. Steve, my pilot, soon discovered I had previous experience with a lot of hours in Austers. Steve even offered me the takeoff and first grip of the stick after decades was a real thrill. He also made sure I was in control during most of the flight. We had poor visibilty, but for me it was about being in an aeroplane, not looking at the ground. We had lots of time to soak up the atmosphere, I'd reccommend this to ANYBODY, and thank you once again to Flights4all for handling the voucher replacement so well

Chocks Awaay!

(Reviewed by Autumn 05/10/2014)

I found the website entirely by chance and wondered whether it was safe to trust it with my money. I took the gamble. So I booked him into a vintage Tiger Moth and from there it was easy to arrange the details of the flying experience over the phone. The operator was available all hours and extremely friendly and accomodating. Nigel was briefed very swiftly and reported that he was both satisfied and excited with the procedure, Nigel recieved the nickname of Biggles for the day. This was really the ultimate open cockpit experience! It was thrilling to watch Nigel buzzing about at high altitude while we explored the facilities. Nigel was mightily chuffed by the entire trip and also by the pilot, who gave many friendly words of encouragement.
