This experience will last a total of approx. 10 hour, with approx. 5 hours spent in the air. (We don't compromise on your time in the air. When comparing us with others, check the small print and the time actually spent in the air.)
The course leading to the award of a Private Pilot Licence - PPL(H) - consists of flight and ground instruction designed so that the pilot under tuition is given the experience, the flying competence and the knowledge of aviation technical matters necessary to pass the flight test and ground examinations to the standard required by the CAA in accordance with the European Joint Aviation Authority (JAA) directives.
Your 5 flying lessons are scheduled into blocks of approximately two hours, of which one hour will be spent in the helicopter. The remainder of the time will be taken up with pre and post flight discussions and the pre-flight check of the aircraft itself.
At the start of your course, you are allocated your main instructor, who will be responsible for ensuring that all items within the early training syllabus are covered. This instruction is always provided on a 'one-to-one' basis and at a time convenient to you.
The minimum flying experience required to qualify for the issue of a PPL(H) is 45 hours of which 10 hours are solo flight, so your course will provide a great start if you wish to get your Private Pilots Licence. You must pass a flying test, a practical radio test and written ground examinations in seven subjects to complete the course and we are able to assist you with this after your initial 5 hours.
All necessary insurance costs, Club membership and aerodrome fees are included in your voucher, and we have tea and coffee facilities available during Ground School and briefing sessions. There is also a Cafe and Visitors Lounge for your friends and family. We look forward to welcoming you!
