Flying Lessons with Land Away
Takeoff, fly, land, swap pilots and do it all again!
Ask any amateur pilot, or even the pros, what their favourite 'bit' of
flying is, and they'll probably tell you 'the landings'. One flying instructors' adage is:
"Anybody can fly an aeroplane, it takes a pilot to land one".
All of Flights4all's trial lessons involve at least one landing, but some
of our operators also offer 'land away' experiences - two landings in the
same experience. These are ideal for making your special day even more
special - two lots of pre-flight checks, more people to speak to on the
radio, the challenge of navigating to (and spotting) the airfields, and two
approaches and landings.
A land away experience can also be an eye-opener for people thinking of
getting their licence, in terms of the ease of covering distance. Even a
humble 100 mph training aircraft can achieve a journey in 30 minutes, which
if attempted by road can take hours.
Typically our land away experiences involve 4-seat aircraft so two people
can fly, one person sits in the front seat for the flight out, you land,
look around the airfield, drink tea, then swap around and the other takes
the controls during the flight home. The flight back can often have
conversations like: "See, I told you what you were doing wrong!"
